What was the first word to appear in the websters dictionary?

It would begin with A. Apart from that I don't know.If A is classed as a word that would be it.What was the first word to appear in the websters dictionary?
Words don't appear in a dictionary.

A dictionary is compiled and then published. Words in the book would have been added in a not entirely alphabetical order, but they would be printed in alphabetical order.

If you mean "what is the first word in the first edition of the Merriam-Webster dictionary?" I don't know the answer to that, but it probably started with the letter A.

If you want to know what the first word ever to be written with it's definition in the English language for a dictionary, I suggest you read up on Samuel Johnson.
