You should look up the word "obsolete" that immediately precedes that definition.



A better one for a true liberal is: "not bound by authoritarianism", because we will not let you circumvent the Constitution.
I guess they agree it is "obsolete" as well.

Clearly that was a use at the time when LIBERALS created the US, you did know that those that pushed for the revolution and separation from England were liberals didn't you? The conservatives fought to retain the status quo at the time, that was stay with England. That is not what it says. Anyway the term is "progressive". It's like Republicans always say "we want to take our country back" They mean this literally, as in "backwards" to their failed administration which almost destroyed America. Progressives want progress, and forward motion, a fixing of the Republican's miserably failed economic policies.
Interesting how selective you are in citing part of the definition.
